Matthew C. Spain is a partner with the law firm of Bolen, Robinson & Ellis, LLP. Matt grew up in Central Illinois and has recently returned home to practice law after having a successful career in the business that took him to Missouri, Texas, and California.

Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2000. He graduated cum laude and earned his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2012.

During law school, Matt was a member of the Moot Court Board and competed in the National Cultural Heritage Moot Court competition in both 2011 and 2012. Matt also received the Honorable William Welch Award for Excellence in Labor Law and was selected by the school to act as a mentor and leader for incoming students during his second and third year. During his final semester, Matt worked as a clerk for Judge A.G. Webber in the Macon County Circuit Court.

Before attending law school, Matt was a District Manager in the vehicle services industry. He gained experience as a leader in the industry and successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements with the Teamsters Union in Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Matt joined the law firm of Bolen, Robinson & Ellis, LLP upon graduating from law school in 2012. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois State Courts and the Central District of Illinois. He is active in the community and a member of the board of directors for the Mid-Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross. Matt is also a member of the Illinois State and Decatur Bar Associations.
