Congratulations to Partner Shane Mendenhall
BRE Law Partner Shane Mendenhall was selected by the Herald and Review as an individual under 40 that makes a difference in Central Illinois. This award is well-deserved, and it truly pleases the entire BRE Law team that others in the community are recognizing Shane’s accomplishments and his sincere commitment to improving his hometown area.
Shane grew up in Mount Zion and attended Millikin University. At Millikin, Shane met his future wife, Alison. Together, Shane and Alison have four beautiful children: Emmarie (8), Brexton (5), and twins Emberlynn and Brennan (2).
Shane and Alison moved to Oklahoma for Shane to attend law school after both completed their educations at Millikin. During law school, Shane was a merit scholar and member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity. He served as the Articles Editor of the Law Review and was awarded the Outstanding Law Review Note Award for his published law review article.
After three years in Oklahoma, Shane and Alison moved back to the Decatur area. Since moving back to his hometown and joining BRE Law, Shane has served as a board member for the Macon County Animal Shelter and Millikin University Alumni, and volunteered with the United Way. He currently serves as the board of directors for the Mount Zion Foundation for Quality Education and as a trustee for the village of Mount Zion.
